There is a depth to this coffee that unfolds slowly — rich, grounding, and unmistakably bold.
Sourced from the highlands of Aceh in northern Sumatra, this coffee is shaped by tradition and terrain. Produced by the Koperasi Ketiara Cooperative, it reflects a collective commitment to quality, where smallholder farmers bring together their harvest to create something deeply expressive and unique.
Air-roasted with precision at our solar-powered roastery, this coffee is developed to honour its natural intensity — full-bodied, layered, and quietly powerful.
Origin
Aceh Highlands, Sumatra
Elevation: 1200–1600m
Process: Wet Hulled (Giling Basah)
In the Aceh Highlands, coffee is processed using the traditional wet-hulling method — a technique unique to Indonesia. This approach creates the unmistakable Sumatran profile: heavier body, low acidity, and a deep, earthy complexity that lingers long after the final sip.
Roaster’s Note
Sumatran coffees are known for their presence — bold, textured, and full of character.
When roasting this lot, the focus is on embracing that depth while refining its balance — drawing out rich dark chocolate, warming spice, and a smooth, lingering finish.
It’s a coffee that feels grounding and immersive — made for those who enjoy something with weight and substance.
